Laurence Gibson, M.D. is also an independent, board-certified general surgeon who has broad experience in bariatric procedures. In addition to training during his residency, Dr. Gibson took a course on the fundamentals of bariatric surgery through the Endo-Surgery Institute, served a Bariatric Proctorship at Vista Medical Center East and completed the INAMED training program for the adjustable gastric banding system.
Dr. Amit Parikh joined the Vista Health bariatric team in 2013. He was introduced to bariatric surgery during his residency. Dr. Parikh went to the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio after completion of his residency for a two year fellowship in advance laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.

June Zaragoza, MPH, RD/LDN is a registered and licensed dietitian with a specialty in weight management, including eating disorder and bariatric surgery patients. As part of the Weight Management Options team she provides initial and follow-up nutrition assessment and counseling sessions before and after surgery. She also leads support groups and helps facilitate the monthly seminars. In addition as the coordinator her job is to help provide access to surgery and continue to improve bariatric services. She is a strong believer in weight loss surgery and lifetime weight management and is happy to help patients improve their health and the quality of their lives.
Roberta Maller Hartman, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and holds the certification of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) awarded by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Dr. Robbie is an expert on wellness coaching for bariatric patients, focusing on stress management, managing emotional eating issues, and mindfulness training. As part of the bariatric and non-surgical Weight Management Options team, she is responsible for preoperative psychological evaluations. She also leads bariatric support groups, weight management classes, and is available for individual sessions with patients.
Stacey Van Zeyl, MS, EP, ATC is a certified Exercise Physiologist working with bariatric and cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients. As part of the Weight Management Options team she does pre-surgery fitness evaluations and consultations to help people start or improve their exercise program. This includes teaching strength and stretching exercises and helping people with knee, hip and low back pain learn exercises that will improve their activity level. In addition, she facilitates the free monthly weight loss surgery information seminar and works with bariatric support groups and weight management classes to discuss how people are doing, teach exercise basics, and work through barriers to exercise.
