According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in four Americans suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder each year, and many can suffer from more than one disorder at a time.
The team at Vista Behavioral Health offers services and support for those suffering from mental disorders. Patients who seek treatment for their disorders often experience a significant change in mood, a reduction in symptoms and an overall improved quality of life.
The Vista Behavioral Health program is the only Adult and Child inpatient psychiatric unit in Lake County, and our treatment plans address services address specific conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychoses and bipolar disorders. We are committed to creating individualized treatment plans and strive to attend to each patient’s biological, social, spiritual and psychological health needs.
We believe in face-to-face communication, that’s why our access team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet with you or a loved one. After meeting with our team, a counselor will confer by phone with a psychiatrist who will help determine the best type of treatment and referral.
Throughout your treatment at Vista Behavioral Health, our highest priority is your comfort. Your individualized treatment is coordinated with a therapist and a physician to reduce stress and determine the appropriate length of your stay and level of care to help you lead a mentally healthier life. Our behavioral health specialists work with major insurance panels and explore options to find a solution to best address the cost of your care.

Vista Health System offers the only children’s inpatient program in Lake County that serves children in acute mental health crises. Our certified teachers provide tutoring to each child, and we maintain close contact with the child’s school to ensure work is completed. Our staffing collaborates with the child’s school social work team and referring physician.
Please remember that Illinois law requires a signed release by parents or guardians to connect with both treatment providers and school personnel. Without that signature, we must maintain confidentiality.
Our team of professionals can also take the time to visit your programs. We provide free training for your teams on mental health topics, and we are happy to share information about our programs and our recovery model for treatment.
