If you’ve been diagnosed with a heart-related condition, your doctor may decide to prescribe treatment to help strengthen your heart, reduce risk factors, inform you about healthy nutrition and safety precautions as you return home, and help you resume a normal or semi-normal lifestyle. Our staff is dedicated to helping you recover faster and more completely—we just need your cooperation. Let us help you get educated on your heart health, learn how to be more active, and get on with your life as a stronger and healthier you.
After surviving a cardiac event (heart attack, surgery, etc), you have a second chance at life, and we’re here to guide you. Caring for yourself after a cardiac event can bring about many changes. You may be limited in some areas, or you may have an identified risk for more heart trouble.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Vista helps to make people’s hearts strong again and reduce the risk for heart disease. Staffed by registered nurses, dietitians, respiratory therapists and exercise physiologists, the team customizes an exercise program complete with nutrition guidelines, stress management techniques and smoking cessation counseling.
Our goal at Vista is to help modify the risk factors related to heart disease and to develop a personalized plan to help each patient achieve his or her maximum potential for heart health. Patients can participate in Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs at Vista Medical Center East and, for phase III (maintenance phase) cardiac rehabilitation, the Vista Ambulatory Care Center in Lindenhurst.
Vista Medical Center East is an accredited Chest Pain Center.
