Ill., 09/25/07In June of this year the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board unanimously approved Vista Health System’s application to begin performing open heart surgeries. The team at Vista is targeting the end of 2007 to begin performing this life saving technique and is proud to announce that it will be done under the skilled medical direction of Dr. David J. Cziperle (zip-ur-lee).

Dr. Cziperle is a Board Certified Thoracic Surgeon and is currently licensed in four states. As an undergraduate, David Cziperle received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science from the University of Illinois. His medical education was received at Loyola University of Chicago and he completed his Fellowship in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the Strich School of Medicine at Loyal University Medical Center in 1996.
Professionally Dr. Cziperle has received a wide variety of accolades. He has been named as an Assistant Professor at Loyola University Medical Center in the Department of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery. This decorated physician is also currently serving as the President of the Illinois Thoracic Surgical Society. Today, we are proud to add the title of Director of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery for Vista Health System to the resume΄ of Dr. David Cziperle.
Currently, Dr. Cziperle is directing the staff at Vista through an active training regiment for performing open heart surgeries in preparation for the late 2007 launch. In addition to training, Vista is set to begin a $7 Million renovation to the Intensive Care Unit, specifically for open heart surgery patients. This entire program is part of Vista’s $70 Million commitment to its Waukegan facilities.
