Vista Health System Announces North Chicago Support
City of North Chicago adopts resolution supporting Vista Medical Center Lindenhurst

Waukegan, Ill., 2/26/07--Vista Health System is pleased to announce that the City of North Chicago city council unanimously adopted a resolution supporting its plans to build a $99 million acute-care hospital in Lindenhurst. The resolution also supports investments of $70 million in Vista’s two Waukegan campuses.

“We thank Mayor Rockingham, the City Council and the residents of the City of North Chicago for their support,” said Barbara J. Martin, president and CEO of Vista. “The people of Lake County strongly support our plans – from elected officials to physicians, community members to employers.”

Vista Health System is committed to providing better access to all health care services for all of Lake County. To do so, Vista has submitted a letter of intent to build a new 140-bed hospital with a full-service emergency department in Lindenhurst. In addition, Vista is investing $70 million in its two Waukegan medical centers. Vista Medical Center East already operates the largest emergency room in Lake County.

“Vista has been a good neighbor to the north and a faithful provider of health care services for our residents for more than 100 years,” said City of North Chicago Mayor Leon Rockingham, Jr. “That is why the city council has supported Vista’s investments in Lake County.”
