 Waukegan,
Ill., 10/20/05 – Vista Health has
made parking more convenient at its Victory
Memorial Hospital, 1324 North Sheridan Road,
Waukegan. With the consolidation of acute
care services at Victory, parking had become
a primary concern for patients and staff.
Late this summer, Vista began providing shuttle
bus service to staff whom park off-site at
Waukegan’s Bowen Park. On October 19,
Vista introduced complimentary valet parking
for patients and visitors to the Victory Memorial
Hospital facility.
“Our
patients’ convenient access to our facility
is of primary concern to us,” said Barbara
J. Martin, president and chief executive officer
of Vista Health. “Feedback from those
who have used our new valet service has been
very positive.”
Vista
Health is providing the free valet service
during peak parking hours, 6:30 a.m. –
4 p.m., Monday through Friday. This allows
people to use the service whether they visit
Victory for outpatient testing, treatments
or therapies, or if they are at the hospital
to visit a friend or relative. Future plans
call for expanding the service to also include
Same Day Surgery patients.
To
access Vista’s valet service, people
pull their cars up to the main entrance, under
the portico. The valet staff, easily identified
by their blue jackets and photo ID badges,
give the driver an identifying number tag,
take the keys and park the car. Cars are parked
in the Victory lots or at St. Demetrios Greek
Orthodox Church, on the corner of North and
Glen Flora Avenues. Upon leaving the hospital,
the driver returns the identifying number
tag to the valet staff, who retrieve the car.
“Our
free valet service is especially beneficial
to our visitors who may have difficulty walking
long distances from their cars into the hospital,”
said Martin. “Now, they can exit their
car at the main entrance and walk right into
the hospital, or if they require, a wheelchair
can be obtained from the main desk located
just inside the entrance.”
Vista’s
valet service is provided by Second City Valet,
Ltd., of Wauconda. This experienced, professional
valet company is used by many Lake County
organizations, including Waukegan’s Genesee
Theater.
