The following criteria will help guide you to determine if Star Hospice of Vista Health is right for you and your family.

  • You or a loved one has a terminal illness with a prognosis of 6 months or less.
  • You or a loved one has a capable and willing primary caregiver in the home.
  • You or your loved one has a desire to remain at home with established comfort care goals.

The specially trained staff at Star Hospice of Vista Health includes nurses, social workers, pastoral ministers, nurses’ aides and volunteers. Hospice care:

  • Offers palliative rather than curative treatment
  • Treats the person, not the disease, using a team approach
  • Allows for care for the person at home, wherever home may be
  • Considers the needs of the entire family
  • Teaches family and friends care techniques
  • Is available 24 hours a day, days a week
  • Offers bereavement counseling for anyone
